FRANKLIN, W.Va. — In a shootout for the ages, Pendleton County won a overtime classic over Petersburg on Monday, 101-96.
Kaleb Kuhn dropped 49 points and scored 38 in regulation for the Vikings (15-7).
Kuhn scored 11 in the first quarter, eight in the second, 14 in the third, five in the fourth and 11 in overtime.
Caden Ours finished with 22 points, scoring 16 after halftime.
Petersburg knocked down 13 triples led by Kuhn’s six.
Ours, Carter Hardy and Brandon McDonald buried a pair while Payton Metheny added one.
The Wildcats (15-7) had five players combine for 93 of their points.
Chase Owens finished with 33 points off of seven triples. He knocked down five 3-pointers in the first half and had 21 at halftime.
Owens buried seven of Pendleton’s 12 triples.
Cashton Kisamore scored 18 of his 22 after halftime.
Travis Owens added 11 points, Jaydon Hess scored 10 and Cam Wyatt had eight.
Pendleton County led 22-20 after one, 42-39 at halftime and 64-59 after three.
Tied at 83 after regulation, the Wildcats out-scored the Vikings 18-13 in overtime.
Petersburg hosts Philip Barbour in the Class AA playoffs on Friday at 7 p.m.
