The Drake Maye Era appears to be on hold for now.
But with the Miami Dolphins looking like the worst team in the NFL on Monday night, it appears the Jacoby Brissett Era, while on life support, might be good enough to pull off a win this Sunday.
The Patriots are basically the team we thought they were, with only a handful of games that could be potential wins. This weekend’s game against the Dolphins is absolutely one of them.
Upon looking at the October schedule, the Patriots have Houston, Jacksonville (in London) and the New York Jets.
There will be opportunities to win games. If the Patriots beat Miami and one more against the Jags or Jets, Brissett could be starting at least into November.
Most people don’t like hearing that, but it’s true and the Patriots plan for giving Maye a few months to watch is back on schedule. Expectations for 2024 are extremely low, 4-5 wins tops. With those realistic expectations, the Patriots get to slow play their quarterback situation.
As for Week 4, I finally rebounded after two horrific weeks with 10 winners out of the 15 weekend games. Only 12 entries out of 350 entries picking more. All winners had at least 11 winners and were within four points of Patriots’ point total (13) in their loss to the 49ers.
