OXFORD — 6 On The Square is celebrating summer with four free Sunday concerts in Oxford’s Lafayette Park, just outside its doors.
According to a media release, House of Hamill will kickoff the series at 2 p.m. July 7.
Rose Baldino and Brian Buchanan first found themselves onstage together at the 2014 Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City. Four years and hundreds of shows later, the duo hired bass player Caroline Browning to fill out their sound.
Today, Pennsylvania-based House of Hamill is reported to be a fixture on festival stages across the United States and have shared their music and stories on the country’s premier folk stages. Fans love them best when they’re ripping through a set of original jigs and reels, adding lush three-part harmonies into traditional folk ballads, or cracking up an audience with stories from the road.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own chairs and/or blankets.
In the event of inclement weather, the concerts will move inside 6OTS.
The free concerts are sponsored by the Robert C. Smith Foundation and Pete Perkins.
