MONDAY RESULTS BOYS BASKETBALL
Cooperstown 88, Delaware Academy 78
Miles Nelen scored a game-high 30 points as host Cooperstown topped Delaware Academy in the opening round of the Dick White Holiday Basketball Tournament on Monday, Dec. 29, at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs outscored the Hawkeyes in the second quarter, 22-12, and took a 32-26 lead into halftime.
However, Cooperstown cut the lead to 53-50 after three quarters and outscored the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter, 38-25.
Jackson Crisman scored a varsity-high of 28 points and had 18 rebounds and two blocks for the Hawkeyes, including 10 points in the fourth quarter. He set his previous varsity high mark Dec. 18, with 26 points against Hamilton.
Christian Lawson scored 12 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter for Cooperstown. He also had seven rebounds and four assists. Brody Murdock scored nine points, and Cooper Coleman scored six points.
Teddy Kelsh scored 24 points to lead the Bulldogs, which also got 19 points from Lincoln Raba.
Delaware Academy (2-3, 1-1) plays a non-league game at Norwich on Monday, Jan. 5.
Cooperstown (7-0, 2-0) hosts Cato-Meridian in the tournament finals at noon, Tuesday, Dec. 30. C-M advanced when Onondaga backed out of the tournament because of weather issues.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Delaware Academy 51, Hamilton 42
Danielle Ennist scored 17 points and had 17 rebounds as Delaware Academy gave Hamilton its first loss of the season Monday, Dec. 29, in the first round of Cooperstown’s Dick White Holiday Basketball Tournament at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
Logan Langel led all scorers with 23 points for Hamilton, which trailed all game, but cut the lead to a single point twice in the third quarter.
Delaware Academy responded with two three-point baskets by Lexi Davis.
The Bulldogs led after three quarters, 37-34, then went on a 6-2 run to start the fourth quarter.
Hamilton tried to make it a free-throw-shooting contest late, but the Bulldogs responded by going 9-for-11 from the foul line to ice the game.
Cameron Cleveland scored six points and Rihana Dye scored five points for Hamilton (6-1, 3-0), which plays the Unatego-Cooperstown loser in the consolation game at 9 a.m., Tuesday at Red Bursey.
Davis scored 14 points, Tyler Abts scored 12 points, and Leah Young scored seven points for Delaware Academy (3-1, 1-0), which will play the Unatego-Cooperstown winner in the finals at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Red Bursey.
The Cooperstown-Unatego game took place after deadline Monday.

Alyssa Tucker scored a game-high 17 points as the Rams won an opening-round game Monday in the Edmeston Tournament.
Carlee Dropp scored 14 points, and Nora Trimbell scored 13 points for South Kortright/Andes (2-4, 1-1), which will play the winner of Edmeston/Morris against Brookfield, which took place Monday after deadline, in the championship game Tuesday.
Laurens/Milford 54, Margaretville 32
Kyrah Andrades scored a game-high 19 points as Laurens/Milford won an opening-round game Monday in the Stamford Christmas Tournament.
MacKenzie Hubbell scored eight points, and Kendra Balcom scored seven points for Margaretville (2-4, 1-0).
Bella Garlick scored 15 points, and Kelsey Cox scored 14 points for Laurens/Milford (3-3, 0-0), which plays in the tournament finals Tuesday.
Saturday Results WRESTLING
Cooperstown Invitational
Host Cooperstown/Milford placed fourth out of 15 teams as senior Andrew Spaulding placed first at 150 pounds in the Cooperstown Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 27, at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
C/M finished with 111.5 points, 15 behind third-place Victor, but 10 ahead of Adirondack in fifth place.
Maine-Endwell won the team title with 215 points.
Spaulding went 5-0 in the meet and pinned M-E’s Jerry Harman in the finals.
Max Koffer placed second at 138 pounds. Koffer went 4-1, losing in the finals to New Hartford’s Victor Petronella, 8-2.
Other top finishers for C/M were: Max Pelcer placed third at 126 pounds. Matt Duszynski placed third at 215 pounds. Thomas Geertgens placed fourth at 157 pounds. Kaleb Chase placed seventh at 132 pounds. Connor Van Buren placed sixth and Rowan Brown placed seventh at 118 pounds.
Cooperstown/Milford has a Center State Conference East Division dual meet at Herkimer on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Oneonta 68, Broadalbin-Perth 50Brady Carr scored a game-high 25 points as Oneonta won a non-league road game Saturday.
Britten Zeh scored 17 points, including three three-point baskets in the opening quarter.
Oneonta led after one quarter, 16-14, but held B-P to six second-quarter points, and led at halftime, 28-20.
Grayson Brockington scored 10 points for the Yellowjackets, which also got seven points from Maddox Imperato.
Vinny Murphy scored 15 points to lead Broadalbin-Perth.
Oneonta (7-0, 1-0) plays a non-league game at Cobleskill-Richmondville on Monday, Jan. 5.
South Kortright/Andes 68, Unadilla Valley 60
Parker Popp scored a game-high 24 points as the Rams won against the host school Saturday in the opening round of the Unadilla Valley Tournament.
Preston York scored 17 points to lead UV, which also got 16 points from Denzel Peter and nine points from Declan Potter.
Boston Quarino scored 16 points for SK/A.
