BUFFALO — The Annual Hallwalls Auction is set to take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Asbury Hall in Buffalo. This vibrant celebration and live art auction supports Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, marking its 49th anniversary since its inception in December 1974 and looking ahead to its 50th anniversary in 2025.
The Hallwalls auction showcases a diverse array of artwork from the facility’s extensive history, featuring pieces from artists who have exhibited over the years. With over 30 works available at various price points, the auction appeals to both seasoned collectors and newcomers to contemporary art.
This year’s auction features works by notable artists such as Laylah Ali, Jozef Bajus, Michael Bosworth, Jay Carrier, Charles Clough, Michael Costello, Mary Ann Dean, Jackie Felix, Erin Finley, Dorothy Fitzgerald, GeoVanna Gonzalez, Biff Henrich, Janet Jackson, Lester Johnson, Felice Koenig, David Kramer, Suzy Lake, Robert Longo & Charles Clough, David Mitchell, Julian Montague, Nicholas Ruth, and Kathleen Sherin.
Adding to the excitement, this year’s art handlers will be drag queens in celebration of the kickoff of Pride Month. The Queens are Damsel ‘N Disdress, Marjorie Logan Price, and Fishnell Twain, promising a memorable and vibrant evening supporting the arts.
