OAKLAND — Four players drove in multiple runs to guide Growden to a 10-8 win over Mountain Laurel Medical Center in a Mountain League Baseball Senior Division game on Friday at Broadford Park.
Jaxon Lowery tripled and had three RBIs and scored three times, Issac Growden was 2 for 4 and drove in a pair, and Levi Bowles and Hayden Heare tallied two runs batted in each. Channing Logsdon was 2 for 2 with a double and three runs.
Braedon Martin was the winning arm, allowing six runs on 10 hits in six innings with six strikeouts and seven walks.
Mtn. Laurel MC’s Dane Van Slyke went 3 for 5 with two runs, Jacob Welch doubled and scored three times, Brady Spotts went 2 for 2 with a double and two runs, Zac Guthrie finished 2 for 5 with two runs batted in, and JD Nesselrodt and Jake Zewatsky tallied two RBIs each.
Welch was dealt the loss. Zewatsky pitched six innings of five-hit, six-run ball in relief.
Growden (4-1) battles Northern at Grantsville Park on Monday at 6 p.m.
Mountain Laurel Medical Center (1-3-2) visits Westernport on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Personal Best 15, Lefty’s 1
POTOMAC PARK — Chase Deremer and Trent Lapp garnered more than one extra-base hits in a five-inning romp of Lefty’s in a Senior Division contest Friday at Hamilton Field.
Deremer and Lapp both tripled and doubled. Deremer had two RBIs, Josiah Dudiak went 2 for 3 with a double and three runs, Rylin Wilburn had a two-bagger and two ribbies, Jamey Ringler singled twice and scored twice, and Dylan Irons drove in a pair.
Lapp hurled a complete game for the win. He gave up a run on three hits with five strikeouts and eight walks in five innings.
Lefty’s William Shaffer ended 2 for 2 with a double. Clay Bailey was dealt the loss pitching.
Lefty’s (2-3) is at Flintstone on Monday at 6 p.m.
Personal Best (5-0) heads to Westernport on Monday at 6 p.m.
Junior Division
Casselman Valley 7, Outdoor Power 2
POTOMAC PARK — Led by five multi-hit performances, Casselman Valley bested Outdoor Power in a Junior Division game Friday at Holler Field.
Landon Mull finished 2 for 4 with a double and two runs, Hayden Gray had two singles and scored three times, and Teddy Baer, Alex DiPasquale and Tanner Weimer had a pair of singles each.
Dylan Sellers registered as the winning arm, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits with eight strikeouts and three walks in five frames of work.
Mason Brown pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
Eston Powell doubled for Outdoor Power, and Bryson Irons singled two times. Owen Pearce was dealt the loss.
Casselman Valley (3-2) faces the Cresaptown Eagles at Holler Field on Monday at 6 p.m.
Outdoor Power (2-4) hosts Frostburg at Hamilton Field on Monday at 6 p.m.
Hampshire 17, Frostburg 4
FROSTBURG — Hampshire exploded for 14 runs in the fifth inning to grab a run-rule rout of Frostburg in Junior Division game Friday.
Hampshire drew five straight walks to begin the fifth, and, after an RBI fielder’s choice, walked six more times in a row.
Hampshire walked 13 times in the inning in total and 20 times overall, allowing it to post 17 runs for the game on just six base hits.
Alijah Ritenour was 2 for 2 with four RBIs and two runs, Zylor Simon drove in three, Cayne Shingleton had two ribbies, and Bentley Mynhier scored three runs.
Mynhier was the winning pitcher. Baylor Simon had a solid start in a no-decision, surrendering two runs (one earned) in 3 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts.
Frostburg’s Evan Padovini doubled and scored two times and was the losing hurler. Gavin Smith garnered a no-decision giving up three runs on three hits in four frames.
Frostburg (1-5) battles Outdoor Power at Hamilton Field on Monday at 6 p.m.
Hampshire (4-2) plays host to Flintstone on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Travel Mug Sluggers 13, Amoroso’s 6
WESTERNPORT — Travel Mug Sluggers pushed across 11 runs over the first three frames to defeat Amoroso’s on Friday.
Cole Robison doubled and drove in three runs to lead the Sluggers, Errice Weeks was 2 for 3 with a triple and three runs, and Ben Kamp and Silas McIntyre had two RBIs and scored twice apiece.
Kamp was the winning arm, allowing five runs (two earned) on four hits in five innings, fanning seven and walking six.
Amoroso’s Jacob Jones clubbed a pair of doubles, and Briyer Cadwallader scored two times. Bayne Stowell was dealt the loss on the bump.
Travel Mug Sluggers (3-3) hosts Cumberland Rotary at Northern High on Monday at 6 p.m.
Amoroso’s (2-5) welcomes Westmar Builders to Westernport on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
