OAKLAND — An Oakland man was arrested Monday in connection to the shooting death of a Garrett County woman, according to Garrett County Sheriff Bryson Meyers.
Joseph Neal Tolliver, 22, of Oakland, was charged with first- and second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, according to Meyers.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office were called to the 1600 block of Kempton Road around 1:30 a.m. Monday, for a death investigation, Meyers said.
Detectives with the office’s criminal investigation division, narcotics task forces and crime scene investigators responded to the scene.
Meyers said that a search warrant was obtained for the residence and during the investigation, it was determined that Donna Resor, 62, of Oakland, died from a gunshot wound.
Additional details about the incident were not immediately released.
Tolliver was being held Tuesday at the Garrett County Detention Center and awaiting a bond hearing, according to Meyers.
