FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Frostburg State football head coach Eric Wagoner was selected to join the University of Saint Francis (USF) Athletic Hall of Fame, as announced on Saturday.
USF is an NAIA school located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Wagoner will be one of seven new inductees in the Class of 2025.
Nick Ferrer, Breanna Pryor, Bryce Lienhoop, Brooke Ridley, Caren Hernandez and Heather Jones make up the rest of this year’s inductees.
Wagoner played and graduated from Saint Francis and helped the Cougars go 51-4 with four league championships, four playoff appearances and three trips to the national title game.
He then coached at Saint Francis for 12 seasons before joining Frostburg in 2020.
As the defensive coordinator, the Cougars won back-to-back NAIA national championships in 2016 and 2017, earning Wagoner the 2016 Football Scoop NAIA Coordinator of the Year.
The 2016 Cougar defense finished second in NAIA allowing 18.4 points and 101 rushing yards per game.
The 2017 Cougars led the nation allowing 17.2 points, 298 total yards and 92 rushing yards per game.
At Saint Francis, 33 players coached by Wagoner earned all-conference honors including 23 first-team selections
He also coached three AFCA All-Americans and the 2016 Mid State Football Association Defensive Player of the Year.
Since taking over as head coach of Frostburg in 2022, Wagoner has led the Bobcats to a 21-11 record.
The annual CASPY Award Ceremony is scheduled for April 24 and will be held in the North Campus Auditorium on the campus of Saint Francis.
