FROSTBURG — Emilee Weakley scored a third of Frostburg State’s points on Saturday, leading the Bobcats to a 83-71 win over Davis & Elkins.
Weakley scored 28 points, adding three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Five other Bobcats (4-2, 1-0 Mountain East Conference) scored at least eight points, but no one else surpassed double figures.
The Senators (0-5, 0-1 MEC) had three players in double figures led by Kylie Morris with 16 points, five rebounds, a block and a steal.
Jocelyn Gagnon and Jahniya Marion each scored 12 points.
The Bobcats host West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
SUNY Niagara 90 Garrett 57SANBORN, N.Y. — Garrett College took its first loss of the season, falling 90-57 on Sunday to SUNY Niagara.
The Thunderwolves (8-0) have now swept all three area junior colleges in both men’s and women’s basketball.
The women’s team beat Allegany 99-66 on Nov. 6 and Potomac State 75-41 on Nov. 9
The men’s team beat Allegany 109-102 on Nov. 8 and WVU Potomac State College 96-87 on Nov. 9.
Mackenzie Owens scored a game-high 22 points off the bench for the Thunderwolves, adding three rebounds and a steal.
Makayla Thomas scored 20 points with five rebounds and four steals while Krystal Smith had a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Da’shai Morton-Hall led the Lakers (3-1) with 14 points, adding three rebounds and two steals.
Renee Timbers had 11 points and a steal while Hailey Newsome added 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Lakers head to Allegany on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
