The Fairfield Glade Police Department offers a free Home Security Check program for residents who will be away from their home due to vacation, travel, or extended absences.
Officers conduct periodic checks to help ensure enrolled properties remain secure.
In 2025, the police department completed 13,436 security checks, including occupied homes, vacant residences, and new home construction.
Along with patrol officers, Community Patrol Officer Bob Henderson, is dedicated to the safety and security of Fairfield Glade residents, with this program serving as a key part of his role and responsibility as he patrols neighborhoods throughout the week.
Signing up is simple. Residents may complete the online request form at www.frontlinepss.com/fairfieldglade
Paper request cards are also available at the police station, and a secure drop box is located outside the front doors for after-hours and weekend submissions.
The request form asks for basic contact information, dates of absence, and any helpful details such as emergency contacts, vehicles left at the residence, or scheduled work during your absence.
If your return date is unknown, simply list “will call” and notify the police department when you return.
As an added service, if a package is delivered while you are away, officers will secure it at the police station for pickup upon your return with proper identification.
In addition to this service, remember to be a good neighbor — if you see something, say something.
Beware of Romance Scams
February is a time to celebrate love, but it’s also a peak time for romance scams.
Scammers often create fake online profiles or pose as someone seeking a relationship to gain trust and eventually ask for money, gift cards, or personal information.
Remember:
• Be cautious of anyone you meet online who quickly expresses strong feelings
• Never send money, gift cards, or financial information to someone you haven’t met in person
• Be wary of requests for secrecy or urgent financial help
• Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it probably is
• If you believe you or someone you know may be a victim of a romance scam, contact the Fairfield Glade Police Department.
