Masconomet 28, Beverly 7: Cal Weidman came up with a monster interception and then caught a short touchdown pass from Drew Gustafson to help Masconomet (6-1) pull away in the fourth quarter after leading just 8-7 at halftime under the new lights at Forti Field.
Junior running back Jack Fabiano had another monster night for the Chieftains, scoring three times with runs of 1-, 1- and 44 yards. QB Danny Pierce had the lone TD for the Panthers, who dropped their sixth in a row.
Pentucket 29, Essex Tech 28: The Panthers stole one from the Hawks, scoring a touchdown with 1:05 remaining and then taking the lead on a two point conversion. Essex Tech (1-5) built a 28-0 lead by halftime as Jake Gilbert ran for 170 yards and all four scores. Jacoby Casinelli Tarasuik also ran well with 114 yards on the ground, but the Hawks lost a fumble at the one-yard line in the third quarter that proved costly.
Manchester Essex 40, Hamilton-Wenham 7: The Generals (0-6) held a 7-6 lead at halftime before the Hornets came roaring back with 14 points in the third and 20 more in the fourth.
Triton 36, Ipswich 6: The Tigers played tough for a half, trailing just 7-6, but the Vikings were overpowering in the third and fourth quarters.
