FROSTBURG — Four Frostburg State athletes earned Mountain East Conference (MEC) weekly awards on Monday.
Baseball freshman Bryce Bauer was named the Co-Pitcher of the Week.
On Saturday at Point Park, Bauer threw six innings, allowing four hits and no walks with seven strikeouts.
He led the Bobcats (27-13, 17-7 MEC) to a 13-1 win, snapping a six-game losing streak.
FSU played Shepherd on Tuesday, then hosts Salem for a four-game series on Saturday at 1 p.m.
For the second time this season, senior Arden Miller was named MEC Softball Player of the Week.
Miller led the Bobcats (32-6, 15-3 MEC) to a 4-2 mark last week, batting .450 with four extra base hits, seven RBIs and five runs scored.
In game two against Shippensburg, she hit a pair of two-run home runs and went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and RBI against Glenville.
FSU hosts Fairmont State on Wednesday, then heads to Wheeling on Saturday at 1 p.m.
In women’s lacrosse, senior Neila Haney and sophomore Liz Amos were recognized.
Haney was the MEC Offensive Player of the Week while Amos won Defensive Player of the Week.
Haney totaled 16 points on 11 goals and five assists across two wins last week.
She scored six goals against Wheeling and five against Point Park.
Amos allowed eight goals across the two games and saved 12 shots against the Pioneers in a complete game.
The Bobcats (13-1, 8-3 MEC) host Davis & Elkins for the regular season finale on Wednesday.
