ANNAPOLIS — Fort Hill scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to rout Northern, 35-0, in the Class 1A state championship Saturday for a record-tying fourth consecutive title at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
The Sentinels (7-7) captured their 11 state titles overall.
Jabril Daniels ran for 247 yards and three touchdowns of 27, 14 and 11 yards, tying his own city record of 34 scores in a season. Allegany’s Karson Robinette also tied that mark in 2017.
Noah House ran in a five-yard touchdown in the third quarter, Chase Lamb capped the scoring with a 24-yard scamper with 43 seconds to play and Braelyn Younger intercepted two passes.
Northern impressed in the first half in its maiden championship appearance, staying to within 7-0 of Fort Hill.
Fort Hill’s Carson Bender also recovered a fumble, and Northern’s Emmitt Lipscomb had a recovery in the first half.
Fort Hill outgained Northern (8-6), 349-153.
Northern quarterback Liam Stewart completed 7 of 13 passes for 89 yards and two interceptions. Caleb Hinebaugh caught four passes for 77 yards.
