Down 12-6 at halftime on the road at Spaulding, winless Timberlane Regional did what it’s done all season long.
The Owls fought.
This time, their grit and persistence paid off with a victory, 27-18, over Spaulding.
Jeremy Mlocek led the way, running for a pair of TDs. Liam Kelley and Gio Recesso each ran for scores as well.
Mikey Santosuosso and Dylan Kudym picked off Red Raider passes, the latter coming with 1:57 left to help ice the win for the 1-6 Owls. Triston Benner stood strong on the defensive line for Timberlane, which looks to make it two straight when it hosts Portsmouth/Oyster River on Friday night.
Trinity 41, Pelham 38
Pelham High saw its 47-game win streak end on Friday night to the Pioneers.
Junior MacKinnon ran for a pair of TDs and Billy Nicolls added a score of his own as the Pythons grabbed a 22-21 lead, but Trinity was not about to be denied.
Justin Bowlan’s 85-yard kick return TD with about three minutes left made things interesting, closing the score to 34-28, but that was as close as the Pythons would get.
Both teams are now 6-1.
