LAWRENCE — A fire broke out on the corner of Lea and Tenney Street Saturday afternoon in a multi-family apartment building.
The building, a triple-decker that may have as many as eight apartments, appears to be completely destroyed by the 3-alarm fire.
The fire started about 1 p.m. and as of 3 p.m. firefighters were still actively battling the blaze with help from firefighters from all over the Merrimack Valley.
Hundreds of people were standing outside watching as the fire continued to emit plumes of smoke into the air Saturday afternoon.
