Firefighters from several agencies across western Niagara County were on the scene of a barn fire in Sanborn on Sunday night.
Crews responded to the fire on the 3100 block of Lockport Road about 8:13 p.m. Sunday. On arrival, it was reported that multiple barns were fully engulfed in flames.
Fire operations up until about 9:45 p.m. were defensive and, during that time, firefighters were able to knock the bulk of the fire down. Crews were then using an excavator to help move the debris around to extinguish any remaining fire and hotspots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Lockport Road was closed between Hoover Road and Nash Road while firefighters were on the scene.
