CUMBERLAND — Thomas and Rebecca Ferleman, the visionary couple behind Ferleman Gallery and Gallery Stage, announced the launch of HotBoxJam, a new entertainment company that will anchor itself in Cumberland.
HotBoxJam represents another evolution of the couple’s overall cultural vision: to create an organization that fosters transformative experiences across the spectrum of art, music, and entertainment.
Over the past year, the Ferlemans have grown Gallery Stage into one of Western Maryland’s most dynamic venues, bringing nationally recognized artists to an intimate performance space.
Along the way, they’ve listened to musicians, industry professionals, and audiences — learning what talent truly needs to grow and what communities are hungry to experience.
That knowledge is now fueling the creation of HotBoxJam, an entertainment company designed to operate at the intersection of creativity, business strategy, and technological innovation.
“HotBoxJam is not simply about managing bands or booking concerts,” said Thomas Ferleman, co-founder of HotBoxJam. “It’s about shaping careers, producing unforgettable cultural moments, and building the kind of infrastructure that allows creatives and audiences to thrive together. Cumberland deserves to be known as a center for creativity, and HotBoxJam is going to help make that happen.”
With more than four decades of combined expertise in technology, business and the arts, the Ferlemans bring a proven track record of building profitable ventures, reducing operational expenses, and innovating quickly.
HotBoxJam will leverage this experience to deliver a wide portfolio of services, including:
• Artist management and development — Helping performers refine their craft, expand their reach and grow sustainable careers.
• Event production — Creating high-quality concerts, showcases and festivals that attract audiences from across the region.
• Creative strategy and branding — Guiding artists in building their identity and connecting authentically with fans.
• Touring support — Streamlining logistics, booking and operations so musicians can focus on their art.
• Future media ventures — Exploring opportunities in digital platforms, streaming, and multi-platform storytelling to expand the reach of Cumberland’s cultural output.
The Ferlemans believe HotBoxJam will not only benefit artists, but also strengthen Cumberland’s growing reputation as a cultural destination.
By investing in local and national talent, the company hopes to generate economic activity, attract tourism and foster a sense of pride and identity for the region.
“Cumberland is a city with deep roots and enormous potential,” Rebecca Ferleman said. “With HotBoxJam, we are building a bridge between our creative community and the larger entertainment industry. Our mission is to give creatives the tools and support they need to thrive, while giving audiences unforgettable experiences that keep them coming back.”
HotBoxJam joins Ferleman Gallery and Gallery Stage as part of the Ferleman’s commitment to enriching the cultural and creative economy of Western Maryland.
