Niagara Falls police are looking for the hit-and-run driver that struck a man riding a bicycle at 22nd and Willow Avenue Friday night.
The crash occurred about 8:35 p.m. Arriving officers found the injured man laying in the roadway. Members of the Niagara Falls Fire Department and an AMR ambulance crew also responded to treat the man. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center with serious injuries.
A black SUV with front end damage is being sought by police.
The Niagara Falls Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the bicyclist was travelling south on 22nd Street when he was hit in the intersection by a dark-colored SUV travelling eastbound on Willow Avenue. The vehicle then fled the scene.
