HAVERHILL — The board of directors and team at Emmaus Inc. recently announced that Albert Hanscom has been selected to serve as its next CEO.
Hanscom will serve as interim CEO until July 1, and then transition to the CEO position. Over the last 30-plus years, he has been a key member of the Emmaus team, spearheading operations and programming. His passion and dedication to the agency have been crucial to its success, according to Emmaus officials.
“During our nationwide search for the next CEO, Albert Hanscom stood out as the most qualified candidate to lead Emmaus into its next chapter. Our team at Emmaus is excited to welcome Al into this new role. I look forward to seeing the impact of his leadership,” Jeanine Murphy, CEO emeritus, said.
Founded in 1985, Emmaus, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families and individuals rebuild their lives. Located in Haverhill, it is the largest provider of emergency shelter in Essex County.
For over 40 years, Emmaus has helped more than 40,000 children and adults out of homelessness and toward self-sufficiency.
