Pixels & Pages: Winter Reading Challenge! From Jan. 5 to Feb. 16, log your reading in the Beanstack app or at danvillepubliclibrary.beanstack.org to unlock prizes for all ages.
Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge. For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1,000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6. Tuesday: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays = your creative time. Hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome. This week: Origami — fold, flip, and create amazing paper art. While supplies last. This program is for ages 13-19 and will be held from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. on the second floor.
Tuesday: Tween It! Tuesdays. Programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: 3D Pens. Get your tech on while you learn about 3D Pens. Use software to create your own 3D masterpiece. This is for ages 8-12 at 5 p.m. in the program room.
Tuesday: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under. Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in the program room.
Wednesday: Publishing 101. Curious about how to publish your writing? Learn publishing basics from local author M.I.H. McCool, who brings over 20 years of experience in the publishing world. Wednesday: Teen Writing Club. Come write, chill, and connect. No pressure — just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts and snacks to fuel your mind. This program is available every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the second floor conference room.
Thursday: ESL Family Group. Join our family-focused support group for those learning English as a second language. Connect with other families, share experiences, and grow your confidence in a safe, friendly space. Conéctate con otras familias, comparte experiencias y fortalece tu confianza en un espacio seguro y amigable.) This program will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
Thursday: Lit Fit with Mandy. Join us Thursdays for a dance fitness series that’s as fun as your favorite book. All fitness levels welcome — just bring your water bottle and wear clothes that can handle your best moves. This event will be from 3 to 4 p.m. in the program room.
Saturday: Story Time. Have a great time listening, interacting to stories and a making a fun craft. Saturdays at 11 a.m. in the Children’s Department.
Adult Craft: Stop by the Reference Desk on the second floor for a take & make craft. Decorate your own mug this January. While supplies last.
