RALEIGH, N.C. — Cumberland native Daniel Diehl set a pool record in his home debut for North Carolina State on Friday.
Against No. 8 Texas, Diehl broke NC State’s pool record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:43:11.
It was his second career win after taking the 200-yard backstroke at Virginia in his collegiate debut last week.
Diehl’s pool record was one of five set by the Wolfpack. NC State set new bests in the men’s 200-yard medley and free relay, the men’s and women’s 100-yard back, and the men’s 400-yard relay.
The No. 4 ranked NC State men’s team defeated the Longhorns 130-92.
