Four-year player and elite athlete did everything the team asked. Captain helped the Royals (9-7-5) reach the Division 4 quarterfinals. Was named to the All-CAL First Team. Her senior class went a combined 45-28-12 with three trips to a state quarterfinal and another run to a Final Four. Scored 6 goals with 4 assists this fall, and finished her career with 15 goals and 10 assists. Had the game-tying goal with nine minutes left to draw rival Manchester Essex. Moved to center back and helped shut down two Division I recruits in upset of No. 2 Douglas — the defending state champions — in the Round of 16. Scored the game-winning penalty kick in the team’s first round playoff win over Advanced Math & Science. Three-sport standout was a Daily News Basketball All-Star last winter, averaging 9.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Also scored 29 goals and 10 assists for the lacrosse team last spring.
Cora Robinson
Georgetown, Sr., Goalie
Returned in net this year after serving as the team’s starter two years ago. Posted six shutouts with eight other one-goal games to earn a spot on the CAL All-Star Second Team. Allowed just 27 goals in 21 games, helping Georgetown (9-7-5) reach the Division 4 quarterfinals. Her senior class went a combined 45-28-12 with three trips to a state quarterfinal and another run to a Final Four. Made eight total saves, and stopped three penalty kicks in a shootout victory over Advanced Math & Science in the first round of the playoffs. Followed that up with 15 saves and another PK stop in an upset win over No. 2 Douglas — the defending state champions — in the Round of 16. Made another eight saves in a 0-0 draw against a Hamilton-Wenham team that made the Elite 8 as well. Has also been the starting second baseman for the highly-successful softball team over the past two years.
Liana Nakatsugawa
Georgetown, Sr., Defense
Four-year varsity player and three-year starter went out with her best season yet, getting named to the CAL All-Star Second Team. Captain led Georgetown (9-7-5) to the Division 4 quarterfinals. Her senior class went a combined 45-28-12 with three trips to a state quarterfinal and another run to a Final Four. One anchor of a defense that only surrendered 27 goals in 21 games all year, and had six shutouts with eight other one-goal outings. Shut down two Division I collegiate recruits to help Georgetown upset No. 2 Douglas — last year’s state champion — in the Round of 16. Played excellent to help the Royals shut out a Hamilton-Wenham team that would also ultimately make the Elite 8 in the Division 4 playoffs. The Royals would add other shutout wins over Ipswich, Amesbury, Manchester Essex and Triton.
Kat Greenblatt
Georgetown, Jr., Striker
Three-year starter is now a two-time Daily News All-Star. Led Georgetown in scoring with 17 goals and 4 assists this fall, and now has 35 career goals and 9 assists heading into her senior season. Helped the Royals (9-7-5) make the Division 4 quarterfinals. Her junior class is now a combined 32-22-10 with two trips to an Elite 8 and another run to a Final Four. Assisted on the lone goal of the game in a 1-0 upset of Douglas — the defending state champions — in the Round of 16. Also converted her penalty kick in a shootout win over Advanced Math & Science in the first round. Poured in four goals in a win over Rockport, and had a three-goal, one-assist night in a win over Amesbury. Scored twice in other games against Manchester Essex, Amesbury and Ipswich, and also had a goal in a victory over Triton.
Sevilla Coffin
Newburyport, Sr., Midfield
Ends excellent career a two-time Daily News All-Star, and bumped up to the All-CAL First Team this year after being named a CAL All-Star as a junior. Also was named First Team All-EMass. Led Newburyport in scoring with 14 goals and 11 assist, and this after pouring in 11 goals with 19 assists last year. Quad-captain helped the Clippers (15-2-3) win the CAL Kinney title and make it to the Division 2 Round of 16. Scored the team’s lone goal against East Longmeadow in the Sweet 16. Also set up the game-winning goal against Danvers in the first round of the playoffs. Put home two goals in a win over Amesbury, and also found the back of the net against St. Mary’s, Lynnfield and Manchester Essex. Her senior class went a combined 57-13-9 with two Kinney titles and three Round of 16 appearances. Committed to play at Union College.
Chloe Raby
Newburyport, Sr., Goalie
Three-year starter went out with her best season, being named to both the All-CAL First Team and the All-EMass Second Team. Posted 15 shutouts while only surrendering a ridiculous six goals all year. Only Lynnfield scored multiple goals in a single game against the Clippers. And this after allowing just 15 goals with 10 shutouts last year. Senior leader helped the Clippers (15-2-3) win the CAL Kinney title and make it to the Division 2 Round of 16. Her senior class went a combined 57-13-9 with two Kinney titles and three Round of 16 appearances. Committed to play at DeSales University. Shut out Danvers in the opening round of the playoffs. Blanked Pentucket to keep the Clippers a perfect 23-for-23 in winning the ALS Cup. Also had shutouts against strong Lynnfield, North Reading, Essex Tech and Georgetown programs.
Phoebe Whitcomb
Newburyport, Sr., Midfield
Multi-year starter went out being named to the CAL All-Star Second Team. Quad-captain helped Newburyport (15-2-3) win the CAL Kinney title and make it to the Division 2 Round of 16. Scored 3 goals and had 2 assists. Possession-control midfielder was instrumental in the Clippers posting 15 shutouts and only allowing six goals all season. Found the back of the net twice against Triton, scored in a win over Essex Tech and assisted on a goal against Ipswich. Helped Newburyport shut out Danvers in the opening round of the playoffs, and also blank Pentucket to win the ALS Cup for the 23rd straight year. Her senior class went a combined 57-13-9 with two Kinney titles and three Round of 16 appearances. Three-sport standout is a two-time Daily News Ski All-Star, and also a starter for the lacrosse program that has made three straight Division 3 finals appearances.
Elise Kennedy
Newburyport, Jr., Center Back
The two-time Daily News All-Star has arguably been the best defender in the CAL over the past two years. Picked up her first All-CAL First Team nod, and also was named First Team All-EMass. Helped Newburyport (15-2-3) win the CAL Kinney title and make it to the Division 2 Round of 16. Leader of back line that posted 15 shutouts and only surrendered a ridiculous six goals all season. Lynnfield was the lone team to score multiple goals in a game against the Clippers this fall. Shut out Danvers in the opening round of the playoffs, and blanked Pentucket to win the ALS Cup for the 23rd straight year. The Clippers also had shutouts against strong Lynnfield, North Reading, Essex Tech and Georgetown programs. Scored a goal in a win over Methuen. Honor Roll student plays club for Seacoast United, and is a member of junior class that is a combined 40-11-9 with two Sweet 16 appearances.
Grace Sudbay
Pentucket, Sr., Midfield
Finished up a two-time Daily News All-Star (also 2023) and three-time Second Team CAL All-Star. Team captain helped Pentucket (7-10-2) more than triple its win total from last year, and make it back to the Division 3 playoffs. Led the team in scoring with 8 goals and 11 assists. Found the back of the net three times for the hat-trick in a preliminary round playoff victory over Salem. Scored against Ipswich, and also had goals in wins over Manchester Essex and Rockport. Had 8 goals and 6 assists when she made this team two years ago as a sophomore. The Honor Roll student at Pentucket Regional is committed to continue her soccer career at Hobart & William Smith College. Was a two-year captain for the Panthers. Her senior class won 29 games.
Regan Breen
Pentucket, Sr., Defense
Multi-year starter was as steady as you can get on the back line. Went out earning her first CAL All-Star Second Team nod. Team captain helped Pentucket (7-10-2) more than triple its win total from last season, and make it back to the Division 3 playoffs after missing out a year ago. Led a shutout of Salem in the preliminary round of the playoffs. The Panthers posted six shutouts and four other one-goal games. Only allowed three teams to score more than two goals in a game against them. Also led shutouts against Triton, Rockport, Amesbury and Essex Tech. A stellar track athlete during the winter season who ran on the 4×200 relay team that placed 18th at Meet of Champions last year (1:49.62). Is also a High Honor roll student at Pentucket.
