NEWBURYPORT — Learn more about lighthouses on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. when Henry Gonzalez and Jeremy D’Entremont from the United States Lighthouse Society discusses “All Things Lighthouses” at the Custom House Maritime Museum.
Gonzalez serves as United States Lighthouse Society president, the nation’s oldest and largest Lighthouse organization. The organization is solely committed to the preservation and sharing of the history and legacy of America’s lighthouses and their keepers. The mission of the USLS is to preserve and share the history and legacy of America’s lighthouses and their keepers. Henry will share his extensive knowledge of lighthouses around the world and has inspected over 300 lighthouses in the U.S., Spain, Portugal, France and Norway.
D’Entremont is the historian of the USLHS and is known as New England’s foremost lighthouse authority. He is the author of more than 20 books and over 300 articles on lighthouses. He hosts a weekly podcast “Light Hearted” for the society featuring interviews with authors, historians, preservationists, lighthouse organizations, and lighthouse experts from around the world.
