SALISBURY — A U.S. Coast Guard rescue helicopter lifted five people trapped on the Salisbury Beach Reservation jetty starting around 4:30 p.m.
By 5 p.m. the last person had been rescued and flown to nearby Plum Island Airport where they were evaluated by awaiting EMS personnel. All five declined further treatment.
While the matter is under investigation, it appears they became stranded on the north jetty due to high waves and rough surf, according to a published report.
