A three-part series of Introduction to Weaving classes is ideal for the beginning weaver or want-to-begin weaver.
Accomplished weaver Betsy Gray will teach the series of classes from 10 a.m.-noon on three consecutive Mondays — April 7, 14 and 21 — in the Art Space in Heritage Hall on Church Drive off Main Street at Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill.
Classes are limited to six students per session.
The three-class series for beginners includes two hours of instruction per session, for a total of six hours. Participants can take one individual class, two classes, or all three.
The cost per participant is $30 each per class, or $75 for those who sign up to take all three classes.
Each participant will need to bring a table loom or frame loom, (rigid heddle or at least two harnesses), warping board, warp and weft yarn, shuttles and scissors.

Instructor Betsy Gray was given a sketchbook for her first birthday by her artist grandfather. Art has always been a part of her life.
Focusing mainly on drawing, painting, handweaving, and spinning, she has been a freelance illustrator, teacher and gallery manager.
She has a bachelor’s degree in art from the University of Maine at Augusta, and her work is in many public and private collections.
Earlier this year Gray taught Basic Drawing, Learning to Spin, and Learning to Weave: Warping Workshop, in the Uplands Village Art Space.
Uplands Village Art Space is part of the nonprofit Wharton Association, a resident-run organization named for Dr. May Cravath Wharton.
Proceeds from Wharton Association sales are returned to the wider community. Most of these funds go toward student scholarships.
In the course of its 45 years of existence, the Wharton Association has donated in excess of $1 million in the wider community.
