MANKATO — Two Minnesota State men’s hockey seniors have signed at the professional level.
Goalie Alex Tracy has signed a two-way deal with the Henderson Silver Knights of the AHL. Tracy will report to the Tahoe Knight Monsters of the ECHL.
The 2024-25 CCHA Goaltender of the Year and Player of the Year, Tracy played all but one game for the Mavericks this season. He leads the nation in shutouts (5) and is second in goals against average (1.80) while ranking eighth in save percentage (.927). He was a Second-Team All-CCHA selection this year after amassing 2365:05 minutes of ice time.
An ACHA/CCM Second-Team All-American last year, Tracy is second among active goaltenders in career wins (66) and is second in shutouts (13) and is fourth in saves (2,690) and save percentage (.927). He leaves MSU second in school history in shutouts, saves and save percentage, third in goals against average (1.88) and fourth in minutes played (6828.97).
“It’s hard to put into words what this program and this city mean to me,” said Tracy. “These past four years at Minnesota State have truly been the best of my life. Wearing this jersey and representing this university has been an honor I’ll never take for granted. Thank you to everyone who makes this place so special. Mankato will always feel like home, and I’m proud to always be a Maverick.”
Defenseman Campbell Cichosz has signed a contract with the Toledo Walleyes of the ECHL. The Walleyes are an affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings (NHL) and Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL).
An assistant captain this past season, Cichosz posted career numbers in goals (4), assists (10), points (14), shots (64) and blocks (63). During his career as a Maverick, Cichosz finished 6-22—28 and registered 202 blocked shots and finished a +29.
Cichosz played in 147 games as a Maverick. This past season he played in all 40 games for Minnesota State.
“Being a Maverick is something I will miss,” said Cichosz. “Putting on that jersey on Fridays and Saturdays as a Southern Minnesota kid was special. To my teammates, thank you for helping me grow as a player, but more importantly, as a person. To the staff, thank you for allowing me to stay and wear the logo. To the community, I have made relationships that will last a lifetime, and I will cherish those forever. Lastly, I owe my family everything, you’re the best support system I could ask for!
“Once a Maverick, always a Maverick.”
Minnesota State finished the 2025-26 season with a 22-11-7 record, winning the CCHA regular season and post season championships.
