Strong pitching from Josie Butler and Brinlee Wright led the Charlotte Valley/Schenevus softball team to a 4-0 home win over Harpursville on Thursday.
Butler and Wright threw a combined two-hit shutout, with Butler striking out five batters in four innings and Wright punching out seven in just three innings.
After neither team was able to plate a run in the first four innings, CV/S broke through with three runs in the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth.
Wright drove in a run at the plate while Natalie Amadon went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Emily Kane pitched well in the loss for Harpursville, finishing with five strikeouts and just two hits allowed.
CV/S (4-0) will be at Gilboa/Roxbury on Friday.
Edmeston/Morris 7, Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs 3
Edmeston/Morris went on the road Thursday and defeated Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs 7-3.
Harper Folts went 2-for-3 with two RBI for E/M while Sophie Robinson had a double and scored two runs. Hannah Wist was the winning pitcher with 14 strikeouts, five hits and one walk allowed.
Sara Cortese went 2-for-3 with an RBI for CV-S/SS and Bailey Thayer struck out seven batters in the circle.
E/M (2-0) will visit Richfield Springs on Monday while CV-S/SS (2-1) will be at Worcester the same day.
Afton 15, Walton/Downsville 10
An eight-run fourth inning allowed Afton to pull away for a 15-10 road win over Walton/Downsville on Thursday.
Emilie Hopkins was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI for Afton, Megan Racine went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI and Kathleen Charrette had three hits and two runs scored.
For W/D, Tehya Colao went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, Lily Klinegardner had two doubles and two RBI and Mackenzie Roach had a double and two RBI.
The two teams will meet again in Afton on Monday.
Deposit-Hancock 16, Sidney 0
Deposit-Hancock used a 13-run fourth inning to defeat Sidney 16-0 on Thursday at home.
Sarah Gross went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI while Pagen Macumber had two hits and four RBI. Aubrey Smith struck out nine batters in five innings.
Kate Youngs notched a double at the plate for Sidney.
The Sabers (1-1) will be at the Cooperstown All-Star Village on Saturday for the SFCU Tournament.

The Delhi boys cruised to a 21-3 road win against Walton/Downsville on Thursday.
Isaac Marsiglio finished with five RBI in the win including a three-run homer in the second inning that jump-started the Bulldogs’ attack.
Mason Reed had a triple, a double and three RBI and Cameron Thomson had a double, a single and four runs scored.
Marsiglio and Carson Pashley combined to strike out 13 batters while allowing only two hits.
Carson Scofield had a double in the loss for Walton/Downsville.
Delhi will visit Greene on Tuesday while W/D will be at Deposit-Hancock the same day.
