CRESAPTOWN — Calvary swept Cumberland Valley on Friday to record its first victory of the season.
The Eagles (1-1) jumped out to a 15-10 lead in the first set before Addy Burkett went on a 10-point serving streak to lift Calvary to a 25-10 victory in Game 1.
The Eagles won a tight second game 25-23 and the third game was also close until Olivia McCumber won eight service points in a row in the 25-18 win.
Burkett, McCumber and Madie Robinette recorded double-doubles for Calvary.
Burkett had 11 aces and 11 digs, McCumber notched 18 assists, 11 digs, five aces and thee kills, and Robinette tallied 10 kills, 12 digs and two aces.
Calvary is at Frankfort on Monday at 7 p.m.

FREDERICK — Messiah Christian won its opening match of the season over Frederick Christian Friday, 25-19, 27-25 and 25-8.
Messiah is at Carroll Christian Academy on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
