Byfield building evacuated after fireworks found outside

BYFIELD — A Central Street building was evacuated Wednesday morning after what was later determined to be fireworks was discovered around 10 a.m. in a section of woods next to the building. As a precaution, the State Police Bomb Squad was called to the scene to assist local first responders. The building is home to several offices and is located adjacent to the Rusty Can restaurant and other businesses.
