BAINBRIDGE — Remington Ryde will perform at Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre at 15 N. Main St. in Bainbridge at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27.
According to a media release, the five-man bluegrass band, formed in 2005, has become known for Ryan Frankhouser’s songwriting and unique and dynamic renditions of popular old tunes. The band is described as having a distinct, cohesive sound and old-time flair forged in the bluegrass-rich area of Pennsylvania from which they hail and borrow their name.
Firmly rooted in the traditions of the early decades of bluegrass and country music, the band can be counted on for its powerful musicianship and proven recipe for entertainment. Frankhouser’s smooth lead vocals sound just as much at home with a driving bluegrass tune as it does with a tear-filled country weeper.
In the last four years, the band has been nominated for 10 Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America awards in Nashville, including Entertainers of the Year.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. Saturday. All performances are open seating. Tickets will be available at the door or may be reserved by calling 607-288-3882.
The works of C. Stanley Hale will be on display from 6 p.m. through intermission in the art gallery.
