Niagara County
• ARREST: An inmate will be in Town of Lockport Court after a report of prison contraband in the Niagara County Correctional Facility. He’s charged with promoting prison contraband. A Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy took custody of a sealed evidence bag containing a cellophane wrapper with a gray powder inside.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 5600 block of Niagara Street in the Town of Lockport. A female victim told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that sometime between Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, someone broke into her home through an unlocked window. The victim said items valued at $360 and her “Papa’s” ashes were taken from the home.
• IDENTITY THEFT: A Fuller Road resident in Newfane reported a case of identity theft. A female victim told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that she received a notification that she’d opened a credit card account on Thursday. She froze her accounts and called the police to file a report.
• ARREST: A man was arrested after a traffic stop on the 200 block of Market Street in the City of Lockport at 3:29 a.m. Wednesday. The man, whose age and address were not listed, was charged with DWI, unlicensed operation and obstructed view. A preliminary breath test showed a result of 0.28% blood alcohol content.
• LARCENY: Police are investigating a larceny in the 2000 block of Lockport-Olcott Road in Newfane. A male victim told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that sometime between 5:30 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday, someone had stolen his trailer. The victim said the trailer was valued at approximately $2,500.
• MISCHIEF: Police filed a report of criminal mischief in the 8000 block of Coleman Road in Somerset at 3:02 p.m. Thursday. A female victim told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that she believed her ex-boyfriend had scattered nails on her driveway. Deputies told the victim without further evidence, no suspects would be charged.
• TRESPASS: Police filed a report of trespass on the 5700 block of South Transit Road. A female victim told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that a homeless man was sleeping behind her business. Police were unable to find the man.
• ARREST: A Lockport man was arrested after a disturbance on the 300 block of Brookside Drive in the Town of Lockport at 11:19 p.m. Wednesday. The man, whose age was not listed, was charged with criminal mischief and harassment. He was held at Niagara County Correctional Facility for arraignment.
