ARREST
A Falls woman was arrested after a hit-and-run accident in the area of Niagara Falls Boulevard and 47th Street at 4 p.m. Friday. Amber Nicole Clark, 42, 2429 Mackenna Ave., was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, first-degree operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of a serious injury accident, second-degree assault, second-degree vehicular assault, reckless driving, fail to stop for a red light and excessive speed. Witnesses told police that Clark drove her car through a red light, hitting a woman on a bicycle. The witnesses also said that Clark drove away from the scene without stopping after hitting the victim. The victim was hospitalized for what police called “serious injuries.”
ARREST
A Falls man was arrested on drunken driving and other charges after leading police on a chase through parts of the North End around 1:54 a.m. Friday. Damon Allen Fountain, 31, 758 A St., was charged with driving while intoxicated, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, no inspection, no registration/motorcycle, imprudent speed, failure to stop at a stop sign, no insurance, move from lane unsafely, fail to signal turn, fail to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle and no signals or flashers. Officers said they saw Fountain fail to stop his motorcycle at a stop and then jump a curb and drive through a yard. They said Fountain then sped away from them at more than 60 mph.
ASSAULT
Police are investigating an assault in the 400 block of 18th Street. A male victim told officers that he was riding his bike in the area at 2:20 a.m. Friday when two male suspects stopped and asked, “Why you riding down our street?” The victim said the men then attacked him and beat him by repeatedly punching him. The suspects took the victim’s bike and left the area. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Memorial Medical Center.
THEFT
Officers are looking into a vehicle break-in in the 700 block of Maple Avenue. A male victim told police that sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Sunday someone broke into his 2013 Volvo XC90 by unknown means. The victim said an Apple Macbook, a pair of Apple iPods and a wallet were taken from the vehicle.
