Ben Lomand Connect concluded its month-long food drive Dec. 13, successfully collecting 1,705 food items for local food banks across its service territory.
Since Nov. 11, the company welcomed contributions from customers and employees at its offices in Warren, White, Cumberland, Coffee, and Grundy counties, as well as Citizens Tri-County Bank in Van Buren County.
In addition to the food items collected, Ben Lomand Connect matched donations with a monetary contribution of 50 cents per item, totaling nearly $850 distributed to local food banks.
Ben Lomand employees also contributed food items to bolster customer donations.
Ben Lomand Connect General Manager/CEO Greg Smartt commented, “Our annual BLC Food Drive continues to amaze me. This effort wouldn’t be possible without our customers, employees, and even some of the vendors we work with coming together to give back to our communities. It truly takes all of us working together to make this happen. Several of our offices had record-breaking years, most exceeding last year’s totals. Let’s never forget that many people in our service area are hurting and hungry and need our help during the holidays and throughout the year.”
Ben Lomand Connect would like to thank Citizens Tri-County Bank for allowing collections at its Spencer location.
The company appreciates the bank’s efforts, and its employees have generously contributed as well.
