NEWBURYPORT — From the mountains of Virginia, Martha Spencer and the Wonderland Country Band will be performing Saturday, Nov. 16, at 8 p.m. at Belleville Congregational Church as part of the Belleville Roots Music Series.
Belleville Roots Music Series concerts are held at the church, 300 High St., Newburyport. Repairs to the 1867 Meetinghouse will be ongoing for the 2024-2025 season, and all concerts will be held in the adjacent stage room, which has limited seating.
Spencer is a singer-songwriter, mountain musician and dancer from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She grew up in the musical Spencer family and learned to play several instruments (guitar, fiddle, banjo, bass, dulcimer, mandolin) and flatfoot/clog at a young age.
Led by Spencer, the Wonderland Country Band includes Jamie Collins on bass, Lucas Pasley on fiddle/banjo/vocals, and Jake Dwyer on percussion/washboard/dance.
Tickets are now on sale for all Belleville Roots Music 2024-25 season shows.
St. Patrick’s Day favorite Téada returns to Belleville with two shows on Sunday, March 9, at 2 and 5 p.m., legendary guitar slinger Bill Kirchen performs on Saturday, April 12, at 8 p.m., and completing the season will be Authentic Unlimited Band on Saturday, May 3, at 8 p.m.
