MANKATO — A 19-year-old North Mankato man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for the June 12 shooting of a man who remains hospitalized nearly two months later, according to the Mankato Department of Public Safety.
Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud was arrested and jailed Thursday morning, Blue Earth County Jail records show. Mohamud faced charges Friday in Blue Earth County District Court of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault, according to police.
“The shooting victim remains hospitalized with significant injuries,” police said.
The incident occurred at an apartment complex on the 700 block of South Victory Drive. Police responding to a report of several gunshots at 11:26 p.m. June 12 and found a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The unidentified victim was taken by ambulance to the Mankato hospital.
