Beverly 48.5, Bishop Fenwick 23.5: The host Panthers won their season opening match Monday by prevailing in a non-league contest against the Crusaders at Beverly Golf & Tennis Club. Among the winners for the Orange and Black included Kyle Gambale (8-1), Anthony Barror (7-2), Colby Kaczynski (6-3), Niko Alexeyev (6-3) and Colin Reilly (6-3).
Danvers 65, Peabody 7: Rolling on the road in their season opener Monday, the Falcons easily triumphed at The Meadow at Peabody. Brady Swanton, Lucas Silva and Dom Onorio all captured their first varsity wins on the links for Danvers, which also saw veterans Ben Campbell, a junior, and Anthony Sheehan, a sophomore, pick up solid triumphs.
St. Mary’s Lynn 174, Danvers 170: In a terrific back and forth match, the Falcons were clipped by the host Spartans on Tuesday. Ben Campbell, a junior, had a team-best 28 points for Danvers, with senior Austin Patuto also scoring well with 27 points.
St. John’s Prep 208, Malden Catholic 242: Co-captain AJ Bodnar fired a terrific opening day round of three-under par 32 at Unicorn Golf Course in Stoneham, including holing out an eagle on the 6th hole, enabling the Eagles to cruise in their season opener Monday on the road. Junior LB Manning was close behind with a 34 for St. John’s Prep, with seniors Corson Quinn and captain Seamus O’Holleran both shooting 35s. Senior Cullen Pasterick and junior Colton Sachar also had excellent rounds, each firing a 36.

Salem State 7, Lesley 0: Vincent DeOliveira scored the first goal of the season just 3:55 after the opening kick and seven Vikings found the back of the net in an opening day out. Matt Cohelo had a goal and an assist to lead all scores while Jadiel Bomfim, Luiz Campos, Jose Joj, Matheus Pelissari and Licas Cantelli also scored.

Babson 2, Endicott 0: In a battle of nationally ranked clubs, No. 2 Babson got the better of tenth ranked Endicott. Faith Minickene played well in net for the Gulls with six saves and Endicott managed just two total shots on goal.

Gordon 3, Salem State 0: Keira Doherty played well defensively with ten digs but the Vikings (0-1) went down in straight sets against their local rivals.

Rhode Island College 2, Salem State 0: Lauren Wilson came up with ten saves for the Vikings, but Salem State couldn’t produce any offense in the home loss.
