Pitcher Jason Sullo was superb, leading Windham to a key victory. Throwing a complete game shutout, the first run of the game came in the seventh, when Sullo’s brother, Jake, drew a walk with the bases loaded. With the win, Windham is now 7-8 on the season, hosting Winnacunnet on Friday.
Salem 7, Keene 2
Led by a strong start from Dom Toscano, allowing zero earned runs, the Blue Devils took down a pesky Keene team. Elias Mercedes had three hits and an RBI at the plate. Ivan Colon had two hits and two RBIs.
Pinkerton 9, Dover 6
Tied at six apiece after two innings, the Astros pulled away with two runs in the fifth for a victory. Anthony Caruso and John Hanlon each had two RBI in the win.
Catholic Memorial 9, North Andover 0
The Scarlet Knights were held scoreless by Catholic Memorial on Tuesday. North Andover had three hits on the day, one by three different players. Cole Mullen only allowed two hits in the defeat.
Belmont Hill 15, Brooks 6
Brooks fell at home, finishing its season with a 4-10 record. Seniors Charlie Rousmaniere, Carter Leonard and Henry Hebert each had RBI-hits in their final game. DJ Thibeault threw out his seventh would-be base-stealer of the season, finishing the year averaging a caught stealing every two games.
Softball
Haverhill 12, Burlington 10
The Hillies got their 11th win of the season in a thriller over Burlington. Emmy Monnreal hit two home runs and drove in six, leading the charge for Haverhill. Despite an early 7-0 lead, Burlington stormed back to go in front, before a two-RBI double from Gianna Pistone had the Hillies jump into the lead once again.
Timberlane 13, Bedford 0
It was complete domination for Timberlane on Wednesday. Out-hitting the Bulldogs, 20-2, the Owls were led by Chaunda Poulin, Audrina Cordero, and Erica Sheffield, all with three hits on the day.
Central Catholic 9, Tyngsborough 1
Offensively, Chloe Salerno led the way with two hits on the day, one being a homer, collecting five RBI en route to the victory. Bella Boyer had the most hits on the day for Central with four.
Windham 4, Spaulding 0
Sophomore Ava Runde had three hits, two being towering home runs, leading the Jaguars past Spaulding. Claire Ballard threw a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts.
Pinkerton 12, Dover 8
Scoring eight runs in the first two innings, it was all Astros over Dover, before seven Green Wave runs in the sixth and seventh. Brielle Foote had a massive day, hitting a double and a home run, good enough for four RBI on the day. Julia Caruso struck out eight batters on the mound.
Whittier Tech 14, Dracut 6
Senior Kayden Ouellette drove in five runs, en route to a big win for Whittier over an MVC foe. Samantha Evans drove in three runs alongside Ouellette. On the mound, ace Kaylee Habib struck out 11 batters.
Phillips Academy 5, Brooks School 0
After an impressive showing in the New England Championships, the success carried over to Wednesday, as Phillips kept Brooks scoreless to end the season. Myla Mexico led the way for Andover with two hits, good enough for two RBIs. For Brooks, it’s an 11-4 final record, led by the strong pitching of Andover’s Jackie Giordano. Giordano finished the year with 187 strikeouts over 100 innings, finishing the year with a 0.7 ERA.
Oyster River 13, Pelham 2
The Pythons were in it early, despite suffering a loss. Caileigh Aguiar had two hits, including a monster two-run home run. Aubrin Berger and Cheyenne Normandie each had one hit for Pelham.
Boys Lacrosse
Whittier Tech 17, Minuteman 2
Rivier commit Conor Walsh made history in Whittier’s drubbing over Minuteman, becoming just the eighth player in Massachusetts lacrosse history to score 100 goals in one season, and the first to do it in Eagle-Tribune area history. Walsh scored eight goals and had five assists in the Wildcat win. Whittier is now 14-3 on the year.
Londonderry 19, Windham 9
The Jaguars fell to their rivals on the road. Despite the defeat, Josh Trudel impressed with four goals, while Sam Kramer added two goals and three assists.
Girls Lacrosse
Methuen 16, St. Mary’s 11
Senior Keira Fitzpatrick continued her ferocious offensive explosion, scoring seven goals to lead the Rangers to a key victory on Tuesday. Her twin, Kate, also scored four goals in the win. Meghan Terry made nine saves in net. Methuen is now 14-4 on the year.
Timberlane 15, Salem 6
The Owls impressed in a win on Tuesday night over Salem. For the Blue Devils, Katie Wood scored three goals, while Zeynep Yildirim made six saves in net.
Whittier Tech 7 Mystic Valley 4
Only two players scored for the Wildcats on the night, but it was enough for a victory. Gabriella Bonia scored five goals, while Ava Cooper scored two. Emma McDonough made eight saves in net.
Methuen 22, Haverhill 5
The Rangers crushed Haverhill, concluding the regular season. For the Hillies, Natalie Libby scored two goals, while Lucia Antonelli made 11 saves in net.
Volleyball
Woburn 3, Greater Lawrence 1
Despite falling to Woburn, it was a thriller, with each set coming down to the wire. Anthony Rubim led the Reggies with 29 assists, while Rhandall Cartagena had 20 digs. Greater Lawrence is now 14-5 on the face, welcoming Central Catholic on Monday for Senior Night.
Pinkerton 3, Winnacunnet 0
The Astros improved to 12-2 on the season with a sweep over Winnacunnet. Ben Koelb led Pinkerton with 21 assists and 8 digs, while Kaden Layne had 14 kills. They’ll host undefeated Coe-Brown next on Friday.
Billerica 3, Haverhill 2
In their last match of the season, the Hillies fell in a five-set thriller. Peter Grillo was impressive in the loss with 42 assists, while Brady Paris had 16 kills.
Chelmsford 3, Central Catholic 0
The Raiders fell on the road against Chelmsford on Wednesday afternoon.
Girls Tennis
Andover 5, Lawrence 0
It was a total sweep for the Warriors, with every Andover player winning their match, 8-0. The Warriors find themselves at an eye-popping 17-1 on the season.
Haverhill 3, Lowell 2
Ending the year on a high note, the Hillies took down Lowell to conclude the year with a 2-15 record. Thanks to a doubles sweep, led by Diana Moreira and Grace Pelletier, Haverhill won after losing singles overall.
Sanborn 7, Pelham 2
While it was an intense day with multiple thrilling matches, Pelham fell to Sanborn. The Python’s No. 1 & 2 singles, Kathryn Haley and Sarah Bellahrossi, each had wins in their matches, putting Pelham in front, before Sanborn stormed back for seven unanswered.
