The Rangers picked up a gritty win over a tough Lowell crew to move to 2-0 on the year.
Niles Scott led the way with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Dylan Sweetser had 16 points and seven boards. Robert Almonte-Soriano added nine points and led the spirited defensive charge, along with Alex Santiago, Jeyvien Deleon and Ravi Kungu.
Windham 80, Manchester Central 67
The big three of Tyler Jordan (29 points, 4 threes), Brandon Jacobs (24 points, 5 threes), and Sam Roidoulis (21 points) combined for all but six of the Windham points in the win.
Pinkerton 87, Concord 35
Nick Sharpe had 11 points, and Wilson Youssef tossed in 10 as 13 different Astros hit the score sheet in the win.
Brooks 82, Groton 52
Riley Clark led a balanced attack with 16 points, and Brooks (1-4) scored its first win of the year.

Sam Mooney had a game-high 23 points, but the Owls fell to 2-1 on the early season with the loss. Julia Johnson and Lila Fitzgerald had six points apiece.

Brooke Benz led all scorers with 21 points, and Taya Brown added 15 for the 2-1 Astros.
Whittier Tech 45, Hamilton-Wenham 38
The Wildcats moved to 2-0 behind a 14-point, five-rebound, three-block night from Vanessa Lawrence Taylor. Neveah Wilkins added 10 points and seven boards.

The North Andover boys opened with a 63-37 win over Billerica.
Josh Quijada was first overall in the 55 meters at 6.75 seconds, and teammate Amani Bangura was right behind in 6.76. Nicolas Floresquero-Llamas led the pack home in the mile with a 4:35.34 clocking. Peter Bullock was second in the two mile (10:16.51) and Adam Webster was second in the shot at 47-1. …

The Methuen girls edged Tewksbury, 52-48, as sophomore Ava Nartiff won the 1000 in her first indoor race. Junior Ashley Machado ran a gutsy 2-mile, and senior Miley Harrison set a new PR in the shot put 29-11.75. …
The Ranger boys crushed the Redmen, 73-26.
Senior Joe Nims won the mile (4:43.36). Sophomore Titus Baker dropped 21 seconds off his best 2-mile, and junior Kaiden Morris won the 300.
