No. 8 Windham gave top-seeded and once-beaten Pinkerton Academy all it could handle, forcing the match to go the distance before falling, 15-8, in the fifth.
Aaliyah Gooden enjoyed a career night with 18 kills and seven blocks to anchor the Astros up front. Taylor Nastasi added a dozen kills and served eight points.
Maddie Andrade recorded 16 digs, including the 500th of her storied career.
Pinkerton will now host No. 5 North in the state semis, Saturday night (6 p.m.) back at Hackler Gym.
Nashua North KO’d No. 4 Salem on Thursday night, 3-0, to advance.

The Reggies advance to the round of 16 behind Asmeily Anziani’s 19 service points and seven assists.
Trinity Figueroa (5 kills) and Jaydalise Davila (5 blocks) played strong up front for the 17-5 Reggies, who never were challenged. Maria Rosario served four aces, while Mia Reynoso (7 assists) and Ilaisha Taveras (23 digs) had big nights.

Freshman Alexa Artz had the Knight goal on a corner in the regular-season finale.
Emma Damour was superb in goal for 7-7-4 North Andover, which returns to the postseason after a one-year hiatus. Brinley Desrosier and Emily Storch anchored the defense.
