MANKATO — The two suspects connected to a May apartment break-in in Mankato were charged Monday after their arrest last week.
Haysautuh Albert Tyndall, 26, faces two felonies for burglary, felony second-degree assault, felony illegal possession of a firearm and misdemeanor fleeing police on foot in Blue Earth County District Court. Elizabeth Marie Deberry, 33, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon.
Police had been searching for the two since the May 31 break-in at 123 N. Fourth St., which reportedly involved a gunshot being fired.
A criminal complaint states a man opened an apartment door and Tyndall and Deberry forced their way inside. Tyndall reportedly had a gun, with the man saying he wrestled to get it away from him, but the gun went off.
The man told police Tyndall punched him before he managed to get the magazine off the gun. He gave the magazine to police.
A tipster notified police of Deberry and Tyndall’s location at Walgreens on Front Street on June 14. A detective had to run down Tyndall to apprehend him.
The complaint states Tyndall had a gun in his possession. Deberry reportedly had a pair of taser knuckles on her and was sent to detox before jail due to intoxication.
