AMESBURY — Join Amesbury Trails for this month’s guided hike on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m.
This leisurely walk will start and finish at the Woodsom Farm sign (202 Lions Mouth Road) and will include Quimby Lane, site of the “Amesbury Massacre” of 1677, the Margaret Rice Conservation Area, the Great Swamp boardwalk, and the “Currier and Ives” vistas from the south drumlins at Woodsom Farm park.
The walk is mostly flat except for three small hills and lasts about 90 minutes, including stops for natural and historical commentary. One of the trails is aptly named “Root Canal,” however. Children and leashed dogs are welcome.
