Rockport native Andrew Stanton, a co-writer of the animated film “Finding Nemo,” will attend a Rockport Music family film event Wednesday, July 2, at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, 37 Main St.
Also the director of the film, Stanton will host a question-and-answer following the screening of the film that won Best Animated Feature Film at the 2004 Academy Awards.
Before the film, there will be children’s activities, including ocean-themed coloring, and face painting on the third floor of the performance center.
Stanton, a two-time Academy Award-winning director and screenwriter, currently serves as vice president of Creative at Pixar Animation Studios. He also directed and co-wrote “WALL-E” and the upcoming “Toy Story 5.”
The screening of “Finding Nemo” starts at 3 p.m., and will be followed by Stanton’s special guest appearance.
Tickets to the screening are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Rockport Music’s movie series continues with the following line-up: “The Lion King,” on July 8 at 3 p.m.; “Les Miserables,” on July 15 at 7 p.m.; “Wicked” on July 22 at 7 p.m.; and “School of Rock” on Aug. 14 at 3 p.m.
