A Glade Creek Rd. man pleaded guilty to a Class B felony involving a weapon and received an eight-year suspended sentence with 90 days to serve and the balance on supervised probation.
It was one of six guilty pleas entered in Criminal Court Tuesday.
Johnny Lee Johnson II, 42, was originally charged with possession of a firearm by a violent felon and driving on a revoked license. The charges stem from a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office traffic stop by Deputy Morgan Alverez on Jan. 27, 2023. Johnson had previously pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in Cumberland County on Sept. 6, 2019.
Johnson pleaded guilty last week to attempted possession of a firearm by a violent felon. As part of the sentencing agreement, Johnson is to serve 90 days in jail at 35% as a Range II offender and forfeits the weapon seized by CCSO.
Remaining charges were dropped.
In other cases on the docket, the following guilty pleas were entered:
•Timothy Neil Snedecker, 32, charged with evading arrest, third offense DUI, reckless driving and second offense driving on a revoked license, pleaded guilty to evading arrest and received a two-year sentence to be served at 30% as a Range I offender.
Snedecker pleaded guilty to third offense DUI and is to serve 120 days in jail concurrently, was fined $1,100 and is being given credit for 145 days already served in jail. Driving privileges are suspended for six years. The remaining charges were dropped.
The charges stem from a Sept. 16, 2023, traffic stop by THP Trooper Donald Seiber from which Snedeker fled at a high rate of speed.
•Steven M. Crandell Sr., 69, pleaded guilty to an information charging possession of less than .5 grams of meth for sale and received an eight-year sentence with 30 days to serve at 75%. The plea was set aside with qualification for judicial diversion. If Crandell successfully completes all terms and requirements of diversion while on supervised probation, he will be eligible to have the charge removed from the official record. Fine and court costs are waived.
The charge stems from a Crossville Police Department “knock and talk” encounter at a Pinewood Dr. address on July 9 with resulting search yielding the seizure of meth.
•Tonya Marie Davis, 38, pleaded guilty to an information charging introducing contraband into a penal institution and received a two-year sentence to serve concurrent with a probation violation sentence stemming from a 2023 plea to burglary and auto burglary with a two-year sentence.
The latest charge stems from heroin being found on her person at the county jail where she was taken on an arrest warrant on Nov. 2.
Fine and court costs were waived.
•Shadayda Storm Farris, 31, pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and received a three-year suspended sentence which will be served at 100% if probation is violation. Fine and court costs are being waived and is she is being given credit for 89 days already served in jail.
The charge stems from the theft of truck keys and a truck between April 28-May 1. All outstanding charges are to be dismissed. Once the sentence is satisfied in Cumberland County, Farris will be released to custody of DeKalb County authorities where an outstanding charge remains open.
•Dennis Lewallen, 47, pleaded guilty by information to attempted possession of a firearm by a felon and received a three-year suspended sentence to be served on supervised probation, with credit for 163 days served in jail. The sentence is to run concurrent with a Roane County Criminal Court sentence.
The charge stems from a Feb. 13 traffic stop by CCSO during which weapons were recovered.
