The Union-Sun & Journal and the Medina Journal-Register are vital local information sources, and our editor must embrace a newsroom that operates around the clock with continuous website and social media updates. Our managing editor must have a thorough knowledge of editing, reporting and writing for print and digital platforms. He or she must understand journalism ethics, libel and privacy standards and public records’ laws.

Candidates should have experience working with other departments to maximize advertising and circulation sales opportunities. Other key qualities include effective communication, time management, follow-through, the ability to train and the willingness to become part of an active community.
