CNHI is searching for an editor/general manager to oversee the newsroom and business operations at the Meridian Star in Meridian, Mississippi. As editor you will be responsible for news and opinion content for our print and digital platforms, magazine and other niche publications. General Manager duties include providing leadership for all departments under the direction of a regional publisher. Applicants need a collaborative management style, a passion for local news, strong editing and writing skills and the ability to drive significant enterprise journalism. Our next editor should embrace both print and digital strategies. The editor directs the newsroom and is a key part of senior management team with a strong voice in strategic initiatives to engage audience and drive results.
Meridian is the seventh largest city in Mississippi, located about 90 miles east of Jackson. The area is home to Naval Air Station Meridian and Key Field. The city’s rich art and history culture includes Riley Center, the Meridian Museum of Art, Meridian Little Theatre and the Meridian Symphony Orchestra. The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience is located in downtown vibrant Meridian. Jimmie Rodgers, known as the “Father of Country Music,” was born in Meridian. Numerous parks, green spaces, recreational facilities and lakes contribute to the quality of life.
