The Cordele Dispatch seeks an editor to deliver top-notch local coverage in print, online and on social media platforms.
Our editor must be passionate about local news and demonstrate strong reporting, writing and editing skills. We need an editor with a take-charge attitude who will lead our small, yet ambitious newsroom in covering the news in innovative and exciting ways. We expect someone with a clear vision to lead us into the digital age.
Candidates must have excellent leadership skills and the willingness to become part of an active community. Experience with pagination, web production and social media is preferred.
The Cordele Dispatch is a local community newspaper in south Georgia. In addition to the paper, we publish a bimonthly magazine, weekly TMC publication and news website, www.cordeledispatch.com.
Located in south Georgia, Cordele is known as the Watermelon Capital of the World and celebrates the harvest annually with the Watermelon Days Festival. Cordele is also home to Lake Blackshear, the largest recreational facility in the country. The lake hosts national bass fishing tournaments throughout the year, drawing large crowds to the city.
