The Ottumwa Courier seeks an experienced circulation manager to lead its distribution and marketing team.
The Courier is a morning newspaper, Tuesday through Saturday, with a circulation of 10,500. We also have a strong digital presence that covers the news 24/7.
Candidates must have a solid background in newspaper distribution, customer service, sales and marketing, and contractor relationships. We expect our circulation director to support our digital effort by increasing our online subscriber base while maintaining home delivery sales. Recently the Courier implemented a Total Access print and digital strategy, which includes metered access to our website and digital platforms.
The circulation director is a key member of the Courier’s senior management team, reporting to the publisher, with a voice in strategic initiatives and planning. This person manages a staff of three in a hands-on, shirt-sleeve environment. The department managers at the Courier collaborate in an open-door culture. If you are looking to fly a desk, this is not the position for you.
