The Commercial-News seeks a circulation director to lead its circulation and audience team.

The Commercial-News is a six-day newspaper with a daily circulation of 8,900 and 10,800 on Sunday. We publish a weekly TMC product and will launch a quarterly lifestyle publication in the spring of 2013. We also have a robust digital presence.

We need someone with a track record in circulation sales and marketing who understands contractor relationships. The circulation director must be familiar with the latest AAM – formerly ABC – rules and guidelines, especially regarding electronic and print subscription marketing. This is a competitive location, so experience in contested markets is a plus.

Candidates must have a working knowledge of basic software including Microsoft Office, Excel and various circulation tools. Also essential are superior communications, organizational and time management skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere. 

This position requires use of a personal vehicle, so an acceptable driving record, current driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance coverage are required. Reimbursement for business mileage will be at the prevailing rate offered by the newspaper.

Located in Vermilion County, Danville is on the Illinois and Indiana border with some home delivery distribution in Indiana. Danville is just east of the Champaign/Urbana market, which is home to the University of Illinois.
