The Cumberland Times-News seeks an accomplished advertising director to lead its print and digital sales team serving the daily newspaper’s tri-state market in scenic northwest Maryland, northeast West Virginia and southwest Pennsylvania.  

The advertising director develops and executes marketing strategies across multiple platforms to maximize sales and enhance our market share. This person works with the publisher and department managers to ensure profitability by meeting revenue and expense targets. We expect a manager who quickly spots trends and adjusts to maximize gains or minimize losses.

Candidates should have a background in sales management that includes strategic planning, analysis functions, budgeting and project management. Also essential are excellent organizational and communication skills, a creative approach to revenue development and a strong focus on customer service.

The Cumberland Times-News is a seven-day newspaper. In addition to the newspaper, we publish a community magazine, a weekly TMC, digital products, numerous specialty publications and a website, www.times-news.com.

The Times-News serves the scenic Allegany and Garrett counties in Maryland and the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. Cumberland is the regional business, medical, transportation and recreational center for the market.
