Published May 29, 2008 12:13 pm - WFXG/FOX-54 Augusta WFXG/FOX-54 entertains, informs and serves 18 counties in Georgia and South Carolina with contemporary and highly rated syndicated programs, the best of FOX prime-time and sports programming, and a commitment to community service and event promotion. The station signed on in May 1991. Within a year it was the network’s Affiliate of the Year for posting the highest sign-on/sign-off share ever for a FOX affiliate. Southeastern Media Holdings Inc. purchased the station in December 2003. Shortly thereafter the station launched “News @10” and its “One Hour Earlier” brand. The program quickly became the No. 1 prime-time news broadcast in the Augusta market. Since 2003, the station has been honored with four FOX No. 1 Club awards for prime-time ratings performance. It just recently added coverage of SEC football and basketball to enhance its top-rated FOX Sports lineup.
